This is the first in a series presenting the best Romanian poems in English.
The series is based on, and will use for recitals, the volume Testament – 400 Years of Romanian Poetry, edited by Daniel Ionita (editor and principal translator) assisted by Professor Daniel Reynaud, Dr.Adriana Paul and Eva Foster (for earlier editions of this work, Rochelle Bews was also involved).
The volume was produced by Minerva Publishing House, Bucharest – 2019, and received the Prize for Translation „Antoaneta Ralian” awarded by the most important yearly bookfair in Romania, the Gaudeamus International Bookfair – 2019.
This first session consists of a short introduction and the recital by Daniel Ionita, of the first chosen poem, first in the English translation and then original in Romanian.
The poem for this session is „The Silver Fanged Boar” by Ștefan Augustin Doinaș. Sursa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdn67rYe66Y
